Here we will discuss the results of some research on human consumption of these products, ways to stay away from the effects of genetically modified products and how to identify organic, chemical and genetically modified products.

The results of some research into human consumption of these products

Genetically engineered foods are foods that are added to or removed from a manipulated gene. Meat and other animal products derived from these products or those produced by genetically engineered organisms are also included.

In 2013, a scientist named Bohn and his colleagues began studies on three types of soybeans. These three types of soybeans included organic species, reared with chemicals and genetically modified soybeans. Research and studies have shown that genetically modified soybeans lack glucose, fructose, and sugars found in organic soybeans and, in return, contain more fiber, which makes the plant thicker. These soybeans also absorb more toxins and contain more glyphocytes (a type of pesticide) that unfortunately hypothesize the possible role of herbicides for manipulated products in enhancing modern human diseases such as hyperactivity in children, autism, Alzheimer’s, Infertility reinforces birth defects and cancer. Other side effects reported in humans include: allergic reactions in those working in the field, presence of genetically manipulated plant DNA in the human gastrointestinal tract, presence of botulinum toxin in the blood of pregnant women, pregnant women and their embryos, the potential for adverse effects of genetically modified products and their toxins on the body’s microbial flora and digestive system, abnormalities in the hormonal systems and natural gut bacteria, damage to the DNA and reproductive system disorders, the nervous system and the growth process (induced) and the use of pesticides for transgenic crops due to their shelf life in the plant).

It should be noted that further research is needed to evaluate the risks of genetically modified products. Unfortunately, at present, the risk assessment of these products is often not based on scientifically valid methods, and tests are not sufficient to ensure the health and safety of these products.

Solutions to stay safe from these side effects

In the first place, people need to be educated to raise awareness of the chemicals and GMOs and their harms. Next, there is a need for independent laboratories to identify and introduce products that have undergone genetic modifications and derivatives, and teach people how to avoid buying them.

How to detect organic, chemical and genetically modified products

Many fruits and vegetables today are labeled with a four- or five-digit code called the Price Look-Up Code or Plu. You can check the Plu on the product for quick and easy detection of the product types. If this Plu was 4 digits, the product was produced using pesticides and fertilizer, if it was 5 digits and it started with number 8, this is a genetically modified product (GMO), though because of having or Plu Labeling is not mandatory, one cannot be sure that this code is on the product. If it had 5 numbers and started with number 9, then it is organic.
