1. The standard ketogenic diet, which uses very low sugar (5%), high fat (75%) and moderate protein (20%) and is the most common type of ketogenic diet.
2. The Targeted Ketogenic Diet is a diet that is suitable for athletes and allows them to increase their dietary sugar or carbohydrates during times close to competitions or heavy sports activities.
3. Another type of ketogenic diet allows one to increase their carbohydrate diet only on certain days of the week. This diet is known as the periodic ketogenic diet.
